C.A.P.S. Membership
Membership in CAPS buying group for contracts on generics, some OTC items and branded Rx items. Quarterly rebates paid on generic purchases. C.A.P.S. Substitution is available when any generic product is ordered.

Patient Care Program
Mutual Drug’s Patient Care Program is available to stores who opt to become licensees and participate in the contracts/rebates, advertising, store identity, in-store screenings and Health News.
This group is recognized as a “Chain of Independents,” and gets free goods, contracts, rebates and other offers made to chains.
The Epic Pharmacy Network is available to Patient Care Pharmacies only. Mutual Drug’s Health News is offered monthly, distributed by Direct Mail tailored to your zip codes. Other advertising outlets include the yellow pages, television spots and radio.

EPIC Pharmacy Network
EPIC Pharmacy Network provides independent pharmacies with centralized contracting and administrative services to third party payers. Legally authorized as a non-exclusive contracting agent for all its participating pharmacies, EPN aggressively promotes the Network as one entity to the managed care marketplace. The RxRegulator program (a third party claims reconciliation program) is available as an option with the EPN program.

Custom Ads and Fliers
Enjoy the benefit of professionally formatted artwork/layout for newspaper ads, flyers, yellow pages ads, brochures and billboards at no cost to you. We will even help you source printers and distribution methods to complete your project.

Drop Ship Vendor Program
Some vendors whose products are not stocked by Mutual Drug participate in a drop-ship program with our stores. These vendors ship directly to the stores and bill through Mutual Drug.

Auto Ship Programs Prescription Items - Auto Shipped if at least 5% off invoice or 60 day terms. New items only. OTC Items - Auto Shipped if new item, selected by top sales predictions. Private Label Items - Auto Shipped when a new private label item is available.

Order Entry System
MSI Hand Held, IVR and X-12 formatted orders are transmitted directly to Mutual Drug’s computer. Shelf Labels are provided and include item description and item number. Detailer, an in-store information system used for item information and pricing, is another ordering option.

Price Stickers
Choice of single or dual pricing. Sticker colors change every year for ease in identifying items that do not move. Average monthly movement shown in whole or decimal numbers. Gives item number, date of purchase, cost and retail prices. Price Change Stickers are printed every week. Store receives 3 stickers for every item ordered in the past 6 months that had a price change. Extra profit opportunities.

Rx-Pricing
Hamacher Resource Group Rx pricing, available in a 2-digit zip code area, gives chain prices and 5 different pricing zones.

Plan-It Program
Hamacher Resource Group Plan-o-grams with monthly updates for each department, adding new items and deleting items that do not sell. MERCHANDISING is available by our merchandising team for a monthly fee based on the department size. STORE LAYOUT ASSISTANCE is also available. If needed, we can also provide a DEMOGRAPHIC SURVEY for your market area.

Living Well Plan-o-grams
Specialty plan-o-grams targeting the diabetic and asthma/allergy patients are now available. Both plan-o-grams feature niche or hard to find products related to the customers condition.

Signage, 36”x12”, is available and we can assist you with your marketing materials by producing custom ads and flyers.

Telemarketing Program
Weekly call by tele-marketer with new items, deals, and close-outs.

Pharmacy First
This program offers our members the opportunity to participate in manufacturer rebate programs offered through Pharmacy First. Our alliance will provide a proven program and valued resource in bringing additional income to your bottom line.

Governmental Affairs
Governmental Affairs monitors and addresses any legislative activity in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and in Congress that affects Independent Retail Pharmacy. Mutual Drug provides the political expertise and is prepared to act on any legislation that will negatively affect independent retail pharmacy.
Mutual Drug maintains a strong grass roots network and works to influence legislation on every pharmacy issue.

SecondStory Health
SecondStory Health is offering Mutual Drug Customers a special rate for their Pharmacy Quality Assurance Program and Learning System. This is a step-by-step process that allows the independent pharmacist to easily comply with the QA provisions of Medicare Part D, and more importantly, the recently enacted NC House Bill 1493, a state law that went into effect January 1, 2006.
